The Black Stallion by Walter Farley

The Black Stallion is about a boy, Alec, on a ship with a Stallion. The Boat sinks and the horse saves his life by going to a island with the boy. Alec got off the Island by boat. The Black is the horse Alec has always dreamed of: beautiful, savage, and splendid. Alec is determined to tame him. But the job turns out to be more difficult and dangerous than he ever imagined. And at the end Alec goes on a race with his horse. Alec and the horse develop a deep and special bond.
