Lord Brocktree is the first book in the Redwall series if you want read it in chronological order. The story is about a badger named Lord Brocktree. He meets a haremaid named Doti and they agree to go and save Salamastron and its hares from Ugnat Trun, a wildcat, with his band of rats. At the very end Lord Brocktree challenges Ugnat Trun in a fight alone. After that Ugnat Trun's army flees so that Lord Brocktree and his army can live in peace. I liked it 100% percent.

I like the names of the animals from this series. I have not read the books, but I remember that our neighbor's sons used to love reading the Redwall series. Your mother would recall those neighbors: Ethan, Graham, Trent, and Reed.
